What’s on your workdesk Wednesday 350

Not a lot to show on my work desk this Wednesday…I started a mixed media canvas at the weekend and although I have thought about my design I haven’t done a lot to it yet!!

I’ve done a few of this style of mixed media….adding texture, paint layers, drawing a design and then shading and highlighting, above is a ‘Sea’ themed one I did a few years ago.  This time I fancied doing one on a Home’ theme which I have stencilled at the bottom with texture paste.

Now comes the fun bit….COLOUR….I never know where this style of art will take me, hopefully I’ll have it finished to show you next Wednesday!

Hope you’ve been inspired, pop over to Julia’s blog for more creative desks 🙂

ps. the mini love hearts were from my husband on valentines day….I’m wondering how long they’ll last!!!

  1. Your sea themed collage is beautiful – such wonderful textures and colours. I’m really looking forward to seeing how your new collage turns out. Have a great week,

  2. Looking forward to seeing your Home canvas especially if it turns out as well as your Sea one. Have another creative week x Jackie 24

  3. have fun finishing your canvas, that’s the fun part about mixed media I think, you’ll never know where it will take you. I use Dylusions a lot by the way, these are actually to replace some that are nearly empty, maybe you can use them on you canvas? Vicky#7

  4. Very inspirational, I have wanted to do some mixed media art for a long time but I never seem to get round to it. I love the sea painting, and look forward to seeing where you take the home one

  5. Mid-project always feels so promising, who knows what’s going to happen next? Will have to check back next week to see the progress!

Thank you for your visit this week, I appreciate it. Got the animals cut out and the prints copied, they turned out pretty well. I’m going to frame them next!
