What’s On Your Workplace? Wednesday 252

Happy WOYWW everyone

Today I finally got round to sorting my ‘workshop’ brushes….which turned out to be a bigger job than I thought!

At the workshops I run I provide brushes for my students and every now and again I like to go through them and move to a ‘scruffy’ jar the ones that are no longer fit for their purpose in the world of acrylics but are ok for more crafting techniques.  I also mark the handles with pink nail varnish so as few as possible go missing lol.

So first I tipped them all out….

I didn’t realise I had so many….I then put all the same size and style of brushes together, checked for pink nail varnish and marked up any new additions.

Once dry I put them all back in my carousel and back on my desk….happy now they look all neat and tidy!!

Below are my favourite brushes of all time….you know, the ones that you would pick if you could only have a few….

My Maxine Mops, my 3/4″ angle shader by Loew-Cornell, my no 12 Traditions blender by DecoArt and finally the only liner I ever really use…10/0 mid-length again by Loew-Cornell.

For those of you in America I am so jealous….all of these except for the DecoArt blender I have had to import from Hofcraft for both myself and my students, they really are lush….think I just need an airline ticket next time….I so want to see Hofcraft for real.

Have a great WOYWW and check out the Stamping Ground for more fun desks.

Hopefully see you next week….

Dawn x

  1. Good Lordy Dawn, that’s a lorra brushes! Good idea to mark em, and an even better one to supply them in my opinion…nothing puts me off taking a course or class than having to she’ll out for a bunch of stuff I may never use again or at least till I’m convinced the thing I’m learning has got under my skin!!

  2. Bravo on a big job completed. It is sad to think you have to go to nail varnish extremes to protect your property from loss. I really doesn’t matter where you go this happens, sad really. Good choice with the favorites too, they are mine as well.

    Happy WOYWW

  3. I’m drooling all over my keyboard. I’d love those brushes. Mine are just dropped into a big box and all over the place, wouldn’t know what was in there. I love your caddy and it’s lovely that you provide brushes. I’m in Australia and good ones are super expensive here. Now that your brushes and paints are all sorted and neat, maybe you could pop over and do the same at my place πŸ™‚
    Have a great week,

  4. You have some fantastic brushes. You don’t have to worry about me, because I only have a 1 inch scruffy brush I use to mop up paint or gesso. No doubt who belongs to that messy brush (grin). Sad, but true, you have to keep an eye on your things. Happy WOYWW from # 15.

  5. Now, that’s a pile of brushes!! I’m guessing you’ve caught the spring-tidying bug too!

  6. A nice set of brushes is a great thing.I’m afraid I am one of those whose brushes are a bit of a disgrace.I do have a very small number that are kept for silk painting and such-like, so they stay clean.

  7. Classes or not that’s whole lotta brushes… kinda sad you have to mark um not to be pinched, but I guess there is always one who doesn’t play by the rules of decency!!
Anywho, they look lovely all sorted in the rack.
    Happy Wednesday

  8. Hi there great collection. I’ve got a few as also use them for sugar craft! I mark mine cos sometimes we accidentally pick up someone else’s. Shame if yours get taken though. Anne x #28

  9. Wow, that is a major collection of brushes! I have a few favorites too, but since it is just me, I don’t have to supply anyone else. I was laughing at the number of pairs of scissors and rulers I have in my craft room. They multiply like rabbits, so everyone goes to my stamp room and takes them. So funny. Happy WOYWW! Winnie#71

  10. Hi happy woyww to you! Thanks for the tip about brushes, I have just started doing art journaling and can use all the help I can get . I think I will add a few of those brushes to my “wanna have” list.
    hugs,
