I had a great day yesterday, sharing my wild pansies canvas as a one day workshop, it was lovely to welcome Linda to my studio for the first time, all the way from Cardiff.
After basecoating our canvas’s and adding our design, we painted each petal blending our acrylics with Jo Sonja Gel Retarder which extended the drying time of the paint, enabling us to build shadows and highlights within each petal….on my pansies I used Diox Purple, Trans Magenta and white.
Linda wanted her pansies to be blue to co-ordinate with her room at home so I picked Paynes Grey a gorgeous dark denim colour and Cornflower which with white to highlight worked really well. A background colour of Jo Sonja Linen enhanced the pansies too.
I think the smiles say it all, well done ladies…great pansies 🙂
