My mixed media canvas from last week hasn’t progressed at all, simply because I got distracted by some ink powders that I bought a while back but hadn’t got round to playing with! I forgot to take a photo of my desk whilst I was playing but you can imagine….it was a mess!!
I love to paint flowers, so decided to draw a rose and a fuscia, and then the fun began….I have always used acrylics so playing with strong colours and lots of water was fab, way out of my comfort zone!
I was really pleased with the end results and will definitely be trying this style of art again.
Happy ‘Whats on your desk, Wednesday’ everyone, pop over to Julia’s blog for more inspiration…I’m heading there now!!!

Lovely watercolor flowers 🙂 I just put a pack of Ken Oliver colorburst powders on my amazon wish list. My birthday is coming up in March 🙂 Is that the sort of powder you used? just pigment with no water and then you activate it. I hope some of those make it to my house because I want to play too!

Thanks Shel, yes, you just sprinkle colour and then activate and play 🙂 great fun.
Beautiful! I especially love the fuscia – I always have a hanging basket of them in the summer. Happy Wednesday! Sandy Leigh #51

Beautiful. I’m going to do 5 minute flowers later today and you have inspired me for sure. Thanks for your visit a couple of weeks ago. I have been loving my progress with Joanne Sharpe’s classes. Check out my blog this week to see what I’ve been up to.

Wow! Just wow. Those are so beautiful. My mom when I was younger drew and painted, she did the most amazing sketches and things of trees. My brother got that drawing talent passed to him. Me I got the gift of painting pictures with words. So forgive me as I sit and feel mighty jealous over those painting. Wow. Thanks for the visit!

I love the fact that flower painting can be so different from the botanical exactness to flowing and abstract. Yours are gorgeous 🙂
