WOYWW 244

Well it’s time for What’s on your Workdesk? Wednesday, a fun day of being nosy and looking at other crafters’ work areas from around the world….hosted by Julia at the Stamping Ground….I warn you though, you won’t be able to just look at one crafter’s desk, it’s  very addictive!

Well this week I have been having a ball creating a mixed media canvas in my favourite colours….pinks and purples.  What I love about mixed media is you can keep on adding different textures and your piece just seems to evolve and get better…sometimes it’s hard though knowing when to stop!  There’s no right and wrong way of doing it either, just lots of ‘playing’…..

I love Jo Sonja paints and mediums and this time I have really had a good go with the Glazing Medium…a great way of adding subtle colours to your project…I think I am converted lol…it was one of those mediums that I had to have but have not really used, we’ve all been there haven’t we?

I haven’t shown all my canvas as I have a few more bits to tweak later today and then I will share it on my blog.  I have enjoyed this project SO much….I will have to start another one straight away but this time I will take myself out of my comfort zone and chose completely different colours.

I’m off to take a look at other crafters’ work areas…nothing getting done in my house for the next couple of hours!!

Have a great Wednesday.

Dawn x

  1. The bit I can see of your canvas looks amazing, would love to see it finished. I love chucking stuff at a canvas but struggle with how to create all the layers, it never looks enough to me!!

  2. Oh good for you Dawn, new stuff tried, fab project and the motivation to do another. Couldnt be a better result really! It looks lovely and despite all your painty palettes etc..my word, its all tidy!

    • Thanks Julia, I teach art and craft classes too on a Wednesday so I have to tidy up a bit so not too much to put away at the last minute…reckon I need a bigger studio don’t you!!

  3. Hello and I love the look of your canvas. I have started a journal and am trying new things and trying to just do my thing and not worry too much about how I think it should be – ie other peoples. Anne x #63

  4. It is good to make time to just play every so often. I am learning to do that with my Gelli plate. You cannot totally predict what you get, so you have to accept what happens, which is fun. I am looking forward to seeing what you feel is the finished project. xx Maggie #3
